Easter 2014

Well, I have about 1 more week left of maternity leave and really it is bitter sweet. I am very excited to get back to work and actually interact with people, but sad to leave little Piper (aka Piper Roo). It has not been an easy 3 months. This little girl has so far been a challenge.

Feeding has been miserable and as any parent knows most of the day is feeding your baby. She would cry and arch her back, spit up everywhere, crunch up her legs and just be miserable. We have her on a low lactose formula and the doctor has her on a trial of Zantac and so far things are getting better. Did I mention the crying? Well, there was a lot of crying.

We have also been dealing with a severe case of baby acne/eczema on her face (not really sure what it is) and although it does not bother her it just looks horrible. Thankfully it seems to be getting better (thanks to Aquaphor), but still seems to come back.

On a positive note, Piper has been sleeping in her bed for 5-6 hour stretches at night. She is WAY easier to put to bed than Ryleigh was at that age. Piper loves her bed and watching her mobile. She likes to be swaddled and her chewing on a binkie. She is smiling a lot, cooing and has found her fingers.

We can't forget about Miss Ryleigh bug, she absolutely LOVES her little sister. I hope it stays that way for awhile, but not sure I will be that lucky. She always wants to help with whatever is going on with Piper. She really is growing up to a little sweet heart(with a little back talk and sass). Unfortunately, we are still working on potty training, but making good progress.

We had a great Easter weekend filled with egg hunts, egg dying and of course the bunny spoiled the kiddos
These are not staged....Ryleigh does this all on her own

Family Fun!

I have been really slacking on posting lately. I didn't even post Piper's birth announcement. This month we were lucky to have David's family come visit for a week. Dede, Aunt Teen Teen and Cousin Parker all came to meet new baby Piper. We had so much fun together and really wish we lived much closer.

Ryleigh and Parker were two little pea's in a pod. They got along so well and shared all their toys. I was so impressed with how great they both did!

Piper is now a month old and is still figuring out day and night, pooping and eating. She really likes to hold her head up and look around.

Trick or Treat 2013!

I can't believe October is already over. We had such a fun month and sad to see it go by so fast, but looking forward to a new adventure in November!

Baby #2 is growing and kicking around each day. Not much to update for her, which is a good thing. She is almost 28 weeks so only 12 weeks to go (and yes I am counting down)

After our family trip to the pumpkin patch, Ryleigh had a daycare field trip to another pumpkin patch. We rode the train out to the pumpkins and then they had a boat take us back. In the middle of the little lake they had a lockness monster pop up out of the water! All the kids had such a good time!

For Halloween, Ryleigh dressed up as a mermaid and we went trick or treating to a few houses in the neighborhood. We lucked out and did not have any rain. Ryleigh did so good and said 'trick or treat" and "thank you" at each house. Her Daddy trained her to pick all the good candy.

Also, Ryleigh had her first dentist appointment. She did so good and let the dentist check out all her teeth. At the end she even got to pick out a toy. She chose a kitty cat :)

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the Plumper Farms pumpkin patch today as a family and had such a fun morning. The chilly fog started to clear and not a rain drop in site made this a perfect day for a family outing. Next week, we will get to go to a different pumpkin patch for a field trip at Ryleigh's daycare.

This was not just any ordinary pumpkin patch this one had 40ft slide, farm animals, pony rides and barrel rides. Ryleigh is such a dare devil and she had to try all of it. She even picked out her very own pumpkin. They had a large bin of tiny pumpkins, but Ryleigh didn't want anything to do with those. Maybe the next size up would be good, NOPE. Finally, she picked one that weighs almost as much as she does.
